Community members gathered together at The Back Door on August 31st with Kate Cruikshank of League of Women Voters of Bloomington and Monroe County to learn key information about how to register voters and changes to election law. We also brainstormed ideas of how to mobilize our voter registration efforts and learned about online tools to make it easier to be informed this election season.

Key Resources:

  • indianavoters.com (and their handy smartphone app) is a great resource to register or confirm your registration, view candidates, find your polling place, and more.  You can register to vote online with an Indiana driver’s license to register in just a few simple steps- or print a voter registration form or application for an absentee ballot.
  • Thanks to a collaboration between the Monroe County Public Library and League of Women Voters, you can find voter registration information and more at the new one-stop online resource: mcpl.info/vote.
  • The League of Women Voters will be hosting candidate forums to learn about local candidates.  Their website is a great resource to stay in the loop on events, opportunities, and activities.

Key dates:

  • September 27th – National Voter Registration Day
  • October 11th – Deadline to register for 2016 General Election
  • November 8th – 2016 General Election Day

When: August 31st 2016, 7:00-9:00pm
