2021: What Surrounds Us Shapes Us
For the past six years, Youth Services Bureau of Monroe County and Building a Thriving Compassionate Community (BTCC) have engaged community members annually for the Monroe County Childhood Conditions Summit (MC3). The 2021 MC3 Summit was presented on October 19th, 2021 free of cost and in sessions hosted both virtually online and in-person at the Monroe County Public Library.

We revisited our original theme of “what surrounds us shapes us.” This theme is grounded in the understanding that children are shaped by the relationships they have, the neighborhoods they live in, the places they learn and play, and the community organizations that serve them.

In this 6th year of the Summit, sessions focused on integrating opportunities for moving from ideas to action– with concrete steps to promote safe, stable, nurturing conditions in Monroe County.
